It actually started in Fall 2020 with my Garage losing power. I bid out the work and hired Phoenix Contracting Services. The following Monday, Jeff and his crew (Mike and Gabriel) came out and finally resolved the issue See more
LOAD STUDIES · INFRARED THERMOGRAPHY · ELECTRICAL INSPECTIONS
Switchgear and panels hide the most expensive failures. A thermal scan shows the connection that is getting hot before it trips or burns.
A scan finds connections and components running hotter than they should. The usual causes are loose lugs, damaged conductors, overloaded breakers and phase imbalance. Each one raises resistance, which creates heat, which makes the connection worse.
Main switchgear and switchboards, distribution panels, branch panelboards, motor control centers, disconnects and the connections on dry-type transformers. We scan with covers removed where it is safe, or through infrared windows where they have been installed.
A bad connection often looks fine at rest. Current has to be flowing for the heat to show up, so we scan at normal or high load. In Phoenix, the equipment room itself may be warm in summer, and we account for that by comparing a component with similar ones in the same room rather than reading a number in isolation.
Scanning live panels is done by a qualified person following NFPA 70E safe-work practices. We coordinate with your facilities staff so we can access equipment rooms and open panel covers at an agreed time. Most scans take a few hours for a typical commercial building.
A report with a thermal and visible photo of each finding, the equipment location, a priority and a recommended correction. If you have a maintenance program, the report slots into it. See thermography for preventive maintenance programs. The overall service is on our Infrared Thermography page.

OUR PROCESS
Every job follows three steps: a site walkthrough, testing and documentation, then findings and next steps.
We start with a free phone consultation, and you can send a photo of your panel or equipment. If on-site work is needed, we visit, look at the panels and service, and agree on what needs to be tested or repaired before any work starts. On-site work is quoted before it begins.
Load loggers and a thermal camera record what the equipment is doing, and the results are documented for each panel or component we check.
We go over what we found and your options in plain language. If corrective work is needed, we are licensed to do it.
Share the details of your project, and our team will help you identify the most practical next step.
